Giro Manifest Interchangeable Spherical Goggle Review

Giro Manifest Interchangeable Spherical Goggle

I purchased the $200 Giro Manifest Goggles with 2 lenses and recently decided to add 2 more lenses for $85 more $'s... My poor vision needs all the help it can get.
So, I looked on Giro's web site and picked out the lenses and then ordered them through Amazon... "so far so good"...
but when the lenses came I discovered that they were of no use because they did not have the $12 "Giro Manifest Replacement Brow" with them... which you have to order separately... a fact that I discovered after several hours of calling several people in support (2 hang up's and then I got some one who was really helpful). FYI, all the lenses illustrated on the web site are "browless"... It sure would have been nice and save a lot of time if the web site would mention and illustrate all of this!
Secondly, there is more bad news... Currently there are only 3 Giro Manifest Replacement" Brows available anywhere on the web and none are in Matte Black which is the color I need... Also, the local stores I called have none in stock and don't know how to order them.
Finally, it is ironic to me that Giro advertises the Manifest goggles as having lenses that are as easy to change as opening a can of beer... but so far it has turned out to be impossible to order lenses that can be changed at all.

If you're an avid boarder, you know that different light conditions sometimes require different goggle types. That's where the Giro Manifest goggles come into play. Outfitted with an innovative pop-top lens change system, the Manifest makes it easy to swap one type of lenses with another. The pop-top system is intuitive to use: simply open the pop-top latch, pull the rear outriggers back, remove the lens, and pop in a new one. The interchangeable lens system makes it a breeze to adapt from whiteout conditions to bright sunny skies without rummaging through your gear looking for different goggles. Other details include articulating outriggers for a helmet-compatible fit, 12 mm dual-density face foam, and an adjustable strap.
About Giro Working late nights in his garage, designer/bike racer Jim Gentes created the first lightweight adult cycling helmet in 1985. Friends at NASA helped tune the final helmet shape and vent placement, and the result was the Giro Prolight, a helmet that was better looking than traditional designs while offering a superior fit and still met the industry's toughest safety standards. Plus, it was half the weight of traditional helmets. Since then, Giro has advanced its helmets, many of which have set the standards for styling, function, and innovation for progressive, performance-oriented riders on dirt, pavement, and snow. Giro helmets are worn by millions of riders, cyclists, skiers, and snowboarders around the world. Young-bloods and old-timers; hard-cores, heshers, and hipsters; rookies, experts, and a few regular Joes too--in fact, pretty much anyone that appreciates superior fit and function, cutting edge styling, and the very best ideas you get in a helmet.

Bought because I wanted a goggle that would fit well with my Giro helmet. Seems to do that well, no large gaps between helmet and goggle frame. Rose lens color works well on sunny days, overcast days and night skiing. Fit is good my face. Haven't experienced any fogging. A solid all around goggle.

Giro HAVIK Sunglasses Review

Giro HAVIK Sunglasses

I picked up a pair of the gloss black Haviks with grey lenses and I couldn't be happier. They fit so well with both Giro and LG helmets that I hardly notice them. Others may have noted that they feel some pressure at the temples on long rides, but that hasn't been my experience. I've used them on 2 hour rides with no problems with fogging or limitations in range of vision. The grey lenses are great for any time of the day, but if your ride is going to last into dusk they may be a little too dark dark...but unless you're Corey Hart you're probably not wearing sunglasses at that time of the evening anyway.
