(More customer reviews)Spent ages trying to decide on a lens type for goggles. Generally quite happy with the ignitor lens. Good in very sunny conditions, reduced vision in cloudy conditions but still superior to other goggles in terms of seeing dips/bumps etc. Nice fit, no fogging.

I ordered these lenses through Amazon.com via SwingSomeWhere on January 27 and was given confirmation that they would arrive no later than February 5. On February 8 I attempted to contact the company because my product still hadn't arrived and I had no communication of what the status was. I contacted SwingSomeWhere numerous times via phone, email, and voice mail over a 3-day period, but still received no response and had no idea what was going on with my order. When I was finally able to get in touch with someone, I was told the lenses weren't in stock (Amazon states these are IN STOCK) and they didn't know when they were arriving... why wasn't I given any communication of this sooner!? On February 12 I got in contact with SwingSomeWhere again and was told that my order was scheduled to be canceled... again, why was this not communicated to me!? Mike, who is the Smith buyer for SwingSomeWhere, reassured me that my order would not be canceled, and a shipment of the lenses was scheduled to arrive on February 15. Mike promised that he would expedite these lenses to me so that I would receive them no later than February 17; on February 16 I got an email saying that my order had been canceled! This is the absolute worst experience I have ever had buying through Amazon! SwingSomeWhere has terrible customer service and ever worse communication.

I had the impression, maybe not well supported, that this would be a smaller helmet and not so space-ballish. While it is a bit smaller than my other helmet, it is still bigger than I was hoping.

You have to protect your skull while you progress, but no one wants to wear some goofy-ass helmet that makes you look like an extra from some B-movie about alien invaders. (More customer reviews)This is the first time I paid this much money for a pair of ski goggles. I'm a recreational skier and just bought average priced goggles up to this point. After dealing with constant fogging I decided to get off my wallet and try a pair rated for anti-fogging. I cannot say enough about how good these goggles are. I went skiing in Vermont and due to the snow or extreme cold, I had them on all the time and NO FOGGING!! Definitely worth the money.

Smith Optics Unisex Adult Variant Snow Sports Helmet Review

(More customer reviews)I just finished five days of skiing with the Smith Variant helmet. I found it to be excellent. First, it is very comfortable, with a thick mesh lining inside that gives all good around support. There is an additional adjusting strap in the back of the helmet that keeps it from wobbling around on your head. The padded ear pieces fit snugly. After a full day's skiing, I hardly realized I had it on. The second great thing about this helmet is the adjustable ventilation system. Sliders, one on each side of the helmet, adjust the air holes between completely open to completely closed. I seem to get warmer faster than most people when skiing and the Variant ventilation system kept me comfortable. On the warmest day, very high 30's, with the air holes open all the way, I was cool and comfortable and conversely on the coldest day, very low 20's, with the openings open just a little, I was warm and comfortable. It obviously can handle a wide range of temperatures with no problem. I wore Smith Shred goggles with this helmet and the contours of the helmet and goggles match perfectly, but I think most helmet compatible goggles would fit without problems. Like most helmets, there is a strap on the back that secures the goggle strap to the back of the helmet. This helmet can accommodate earphones, but I can't comment on this feature since I don't use them. In comparison to other helmets I have worn, this is the best.
