Julbo Keedz (w/ Spectron X5 Lenses) Review

We purchased these sunglasses in size 3-8 years for my son, who's currently 2 and a half, but generally wears size 4 clothes. When they arrived, I was convinced that they were the wrong size -- they're very small. At first, my son wouldn't wear them, but they are flexible and covered with a rubbery material, so eventually he came around. Bottom line: usable, but I'm not sure for how long. I am sure it won't be until age 8 years! These won't be worth the extra money if you only get to use them for 6 months. I'd recommend getting a size up.

Great for those kids who don't mess or fuss too much with sunglasses, Julbo's Keedz sunglasses with Spectron X5 polycarbonate lenses are excellent for family fun while boating, camping and skiing. Just ahead of the elastomer inserts is a frame adjustment feature that allows for resizing and fit modifications, so you can keep adjusting the frame as your kid grows--or at least until he or she pops out and loses the lenses. These delightfully durable kids' sunglasses are excellent for families that ski, boat and fish together..

I just ordered a second pair of these after my first pair came to an unfortunate demise canyoneering (not sure if any pair of sunglasses can survive a pack landing on them from 30 ft up). My only major complaint is that they can fog up in cold weather. I like the plastic side pieces better than the cloth/rubber ones on other models since they do not retain water and dry off much quicker. The biggest reason I came back to this model is that they fit my face nicely but I imagine this is variable person to person.

Julbo Nomad Sunglasses' Alti Spectron X4 Lenses reduce visible light transmission to only 5% so you don't go snow-blind on the summit ridge of some remote peak. Removable plastic shields prevent light from sneaking in through the sides, and wraparound temples keep the Nomad Sunglasses from slipping off and taking an unexpected ride all the way to the glacier. I got these cus I was tired of glasses that were too dark I had to take them off every 10 seconds when I'm inside or in partial shade. They work magic for bright days racing through the canyons. I have black on black, octopus lenses, 3+ polarized edition.

Julbo Micropore Mountain Sunglasses Review

just received these today, so this review is only a first impression.
the first thing i noticed when i put them on is that they didn't block the bright sun directly overhead. not exactly sure why, but i feel that the top of the frames fits farther from my eye brow than my other (cheaper) glasses.
the glasses are very "terminator"-ish looking. rather extreme for everyday use.
as for ergo, they feel comfortable, and seem to stick on my head pretty well despite having a loose feeling. the rubberized nose bridge fits nice, but i question the longevity of it.
workmanship is, well, uneven. there's a plastic "gasket" sort of thing that connects the side guards to the frame. one side is not shaped correctly resulting in a gap between the frame and the guard. it's clearly missing a bend (making it more circular) that is present on the other side.

At high altitudes, intense light, dazlle and variations in lighting conditions are extreme. Fresh snow reflects 85% of solar radiation and the uv index increases 10% every 1,000 m. Mountaineers need to be able to rely on materials that are absolutely safe and which they do not need to think about. Boasting mineral lenses, moldable sprung bronze temples, a metal frame, leather side shieldsand nosepiece, the Micropores remains the standard in mountain exploration. With complete coverage, perfect hold and absolute comfort, you can set your sights on any summit. Includes the Spectron 3 polycarbonate lens, light but with excellent shock resistance, this verstile lens is suitable for all types of sports activities.

Julbo Trail Sunglasses (w/ Zebra Antifog Photochromic Lenses) Review

Julbo Trail Sunglasses (w/ Zebra Antifog Photochromic Lenses)

I am a big glasses guy and I always look around before buying a pair. That being said, I wear these every day seeing as though I bike to work. I live in Wisconsin and so glasses in the winter is a must. I have worn these in sun, rain, snow and sleet. The only problem I have ever had was when there was a couple of -20 degree days, my breath froze to the glasses like a windshield needing defrosting (can't really count on anything working perfectly in those conditions). I like that they change with the light, who realy wants to carry an extra pair with them? I have worn them at night both in town and on dark bike trails and have not had any visability problems (there is only a slight tint with no light).

Julbo Colorado Sunglasses Review

Julbo Colorado Sunglasses
Average Reviews:

Awesome sunglasses for the price. These are very dark, with full mirrored lenses and a sturdy metal frame. For those familiar with the 'shade' system used to standardize lens tinting, these are a 4. Most sunglasses, even good brands are a 3 at most. Glasses used for oxyacetylene torch welding are usually a 5-7. More powerful forms of welding (ARC/MIG/TIG) require a 9-12 shade or higher depending on the amperage used. Julbo states in the manual that these sunglasses are not recommended for driving, but I find that they work fine, especially in ultra-high glare situations like wet/snow covered roads. They turn an extremely sunny day into the filtered, yellow/orange light you usually see through summer storm clouds. If you're like me, and kept wishing that your standard sunglasses were just a little darker, these are what you're looking for. The side shields aren't distracting, and make it unnecessary to play with the visor in your vehicle when the sun is coming through the side windows. They're made or leather and are fully removable if the look or feel bothers you. The lenses are not polarized, as is common with most glasses designed for mountaineering. This allows the user to see the reflections from dangerous patches of ice before they're too close. Heavily chromed bumpers will definitely get you attention on a sunny day, but they're not unbearable. Another neat feature not described in the add, the ear pieces are flexible on the ends. This allows you to curl them back over your ears for maximum retention during vigorous activity. I've owned some very expensive sunglasses in the past. For the price, you can't beat these. I look forward to trying other Julbo models in the future.

Julbo Infant Looping I Sunglasses (0-18 months) Review

Works as advertised. Exactly what needed. My son started wearing them at 3 months old and tolerates well. The cord around the back of the head is necessary, but a bit annoying when on the smallest setting for an infants head. The excess cord has no where to go and between wrestling to put sunglasses on an infant and trying to get the excess cord in a comfortable place, can be a pain. Otherwise, no probs.

Julbo Kid's Looping Sunglasses with Cord Review

Julbo Kid's Looping Sunglasses with Cord
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
We purchased these sunglasses for our two-year old daughter prior to a beach vacation. I had seen children's sunglasses before but had not focused on them much as I didn't think that she could keep them on last summer at ~18 months, so she wore a wide brim hat. At that time I bought a pair of very inexpensive sunglasses that fit with adjustable elasticized straps; these were ok for minimal use but slipped and later on the (inexpensive) lenses popped out!
Based on this experience, I wanted to avoid any lense pop-outs, and also find shades that our child could put on -- and that would stay on -- with minimal parental intervention (no straps for me to adjust, etc.). The Julbo sunglasses are "dummy proof" - there is no up/down, so your child can put them on and they'll be the "right way" no matter what. The glasses have no hinges and basically wrap around the wearer's head (but not in an uncomfortable way - we'd hear about it otherwise). These sunglasses are also quite durable: they flex quite a bit (my daughter has made them almost flat a few times, ugh), they withstand frequent dropping, and then mirror lenses do not pop out and do not scratch.
Our daughter LOVES these glasses. She has worn them nearly daily now since our vacation in early March. When we first got them in the dreary dead of winter, she seemed to wonder why she needed them, but quickly became a fan in the sun on vacation. Now that we're home, a month and half later she still asks for them each time we out if she can't find them. She's quick to tell us if something isn't right (too hot, itchy, etc.) and we have never received any complaints about these glasses.
We receive positive comments on the glasses from strangers almost each time we go out - people seem to like the "look."

I thought the strap would be a good thing, but we don't actually use it. This could be due to my daughter's hair (frequently in two pony tails). We don't really need the strap, come to find out.
Pros: VERY durable, child can put on by him/her self, glasses stay on, lots of colors (we got the brown/blue combo, which may not sound girly, but looks good with brown hair)
Cons: Couldn't find these in a store to try on so took a leap of faith and bought on Amazon (would never do this for my own sunglasses!)
Neutral: Price seemed high at time of purchase (and frankly I was worried that I would regret my purchase) but given the use and abuse they have received (near daily wear), and durability, I think the price is worth it as we would have replaced regular hinged glasses several times by now or would have been fussing with the Velcro adjustable-strap kind.
We will look at Julbo children's glasses when our daughter outgrows her current pair. Would definitely recommend to parents who want their toddlers to wear sunglasses and who want the child to "own" the wearing experience.
